We wrapped up our look at the Pythagorean Theorem today with Lesson 6.4, where we calculated the distance between two points.
We'll be taking the Chapter 5/6 test tomorrow in class (one test covering the key elements of both chapters). The pre-tests for both chapters would be good study tools tonight.

Period 2.
Today we investigated the Tricky Trailer math challenge. Great thinking all around, everyone!
Parents: Watch the video linked above then ask your student to explain to you how they went about figuring out if the pole could fit. Extra dessert tonight for those that can back it up with formulas and calculations!
Period 1. Today we reviewed questions 1-21 out of the 1st. Semester Exam Packet. Great job on learning the concepts! Remember to show your work and plug in your answer to check if you got it correct do this on problems 1-12. We will try to fit in Tricky Trailer math challenge after our Test on Friday.
Homework: Review Packet # 14-21; Look over chapters 4 & 5 Summary.

Today we investigated a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem (of which there are many) with Lesson 6.1.
Final exams begin a week from today. You should start your studying tonight. The best way to begin is to review the chapter summaries for every chapter (1-6). I'd recommend one chapter each night this week.
Homework: Finish Problem 2 (parts 1-5)[Complete all graphic organizers]; textbook page 332 (#3-4) Exam Review #1-7

We dove into Chapter 6 today with a little bit of Lesson 6.1 (we'll come back to the rest next week) and the main parts of Lesson 6.2, which covered the Pythagorean Theorem and the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem.
